3991 SIM cards from Great Britain have been announced at Rinas Airport. The package was withdrawn by an Albanian citizen. When questioned he categorically denied that they belonged to him.
The scientific police have confirmed that they have discovered that he communicates with foreign citizens in France, as well as Albanians, who has informed them that the cards have arrived.
But why are foreign cards sold in Albania?
Hoxha explains that one of the ways they can be sold on the black market, apart from computer fraud, is to communicate with a foreign phone number so as not to be intercepted. Earlier, it was used for this reason by persons from the underworld.
In Albania, because this is a good way not to be tracked, says the journalist, who adds that the police are expected to refer the case of computer fraud to the Prosecutor’s Office. The case is now in the hands of the scientific police in Tirana.
While a day ago, journalist Muhamed Veliu, has identified a website which has a database of 3 million mobile phone numbers, along with the names of users of these numbers and the job position of the person to whom the phone number belongs.
This is not the only list of telephone numbers circulating on the network. The scandal started with the publication of the list of patrons, part of which were the cell phone numbers of these persons included in the list, to continue with the publication of the salary database along with the phone numbers and license plates of vehicles that caused a social conflict .
Exposure to this sensitive data demonstrates the need to strengthen cyber security at a time when storing personal data is becoming a major challenge.
