The long wait of all Psychology graduates has come to an end. In May they will undergo the state exam for obtaining a license.
“There are psychologists who have been waiting since 2016 to take part in the state exam, because the law has defined it as such. All those who graduated after 2016, ie who closed both study cycles, after the entry into force of the Order of Psychologist, must pass the state exam. So we have since 2017 (year when the Order of Psychologist was raised), that we lobby with the Ministry of Education and the QSHA (Center for Educational Services), in order to conduct the first state exam. We expect the exam to be held on 18, 19, 20 May 2022. “ – said Valbona Treska.
It is expected that there will be over 400 psychologists who will take the exam, however this number may be smaller, as a large number of psychologists will apply in November 2022, as this state exam will be held twice in year onwards.
The exam is divided into 5 different profiles, as a school psychologist may not have the same set of questions as the court psychologist.
Each profile has a fund of 1500 questions. The questions were published in early April this year and were drafted by a group of 9 professors from the country’s public and private universities according to international standards.
We are aware that there are complaints from psychologists who will participate in the exam, that they do not have the key to answer the questions. And this complaint was also presented in the meeting with the Minister of Education and the head of QSHA, but the answer of the latter is that there can be no key to the answers to these questions.
Every applicant receives the answer to the exam at the moment, he does not have to wait at all.
