Car-free Sunday will become a tradition from the Municipality of Tirana. Starting April 17, every Sunday in the capital will be dedicated to pedestrians as a way not only to reduce pollution but also to bring a new culture to the capital.
The Municipality of Tirana in cooperation with the State Police has taken measures and has determined the road axes where there will be restriction of vehicle traffic from 09.00 to 15.00.
Restriction of vehicle traffic, in the framework of Car Free Day, on April 17, 2022, from 09:00 to 15:00, will be in the following segments:
– Boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit” – from the Ministry of Interior to the beginning of “Former- Hotel Dajti”.
– Boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit” from the Bridge of “former Hotel Dajti” to the intersection with the street “Ismail Qemali”.
– The segment of the road -Myslym Shyri- from the intersection of the High Court towards the Boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit”.
2. The circulation of vehicles, emergency vehicles and the State Police will be done according to the movement plan below:
– Emergency vehicles, State Police, Urban Urban Public Service and Taxi 4 + 1 will be available at all times in the segments defined in point I of this ordinance.
– For all other vehicles the access will be to the streets “Ibrahim Rugova”, Blv. Zhan D’Ark, Blv. “Bajram Curri” and “George.W. Bush”. Traffic at the intersection of “Myslym Shyri” street with “Ibrahim Rugova” street will be forced to the right.
