The European Union said on July 11 that it is “critical” that authorities in the bloc’s 27 states consider giving a second booster dose to all people aged 60 to 79, but also to other vulnerable categories, while the new wave of the pandemic is hitting the continent.
“With the increase in infections and hospitalizations as we enter the summer period, I urge everyone to get vaccinated and receive booster doses as soon as possible. There is no time to lose”, said the European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides.
