The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj has won the defamation lawsuit against the PD MP, Grida Duma.
The Special Court has rejected the allegations of the Duma deputy for defamation by the mayor Veliaj.
According to the court decision, Veliaj did not slander when during the campaign he reminded Grida Duma that he had sold the same apartment to an individual several times and that she was convicted by the court for fraud.
The prosecution had the same opinion with the court, which underlined that the mayor did not violate the law and did not consume the elements of the criminal offense of defamation.
This is not the only loss of Grida Duma against Erion Veliaj. In the April 25 elections, the Duma challenged Veliaj, claiming that he would defeat him in Kavaja. But the result ended with the deep victory of the Socialists led by Veliaj in the Tirana Region. Earlier, MP Duma suffered defeat in Tirana, where she lost to Veliaj in Unit 1.
