Today, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan will have a several-hour visit to Albania.
Upon arrival in Rinas around 09:00, together with Prime Minister Edi Rama, they will head to Laç to see the new housing district built thanks to the support of President Erdogan and the generosity of the Turkish people.
There are 522 apartments worth 42 million euros, a contribution of Turkey after the earthquake of November 26, 2019. At 14:00, the Rama-Erdogan meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s Office and then the signing of 7 agreements and memoranda of cooperation.
Part of President Erdogan’s visit to Tirana is another stop to see the Ethem Bey Mosque after reconstruction. It was TIKA, the Turkish agency for international co-operation financing the reconstruction through restoration specialists, coming from Turkey.
The press conference of Prime Minister Rama and Erdogan will be held at around 15:00, while the visit of the Turkish president will end with a speech in the Albanian parliament.
Roads to be blocked:
- On the way from Rinas airport to ‘Gjoles Bridge’ and vice versa starting from 08:30 until 10:00.
- On the road Vora-Gjole Bridge and vice versa starting from 08:30 to 10:00.
- On the road Rinas-Gjole Bridge and vice versa starting from 11:00 to 13:00.
- On the road Vora-Rinas, the bridge of Gjoles-Rinas and vice versa from 11: 00-13: 00.
- On the Durrës-Tirana and Tirana-Durrës highways starting from 11: 00-13: 00.
- In the new ring road and the continuation of the Great Ring Road, starting from the underpass of the Casa Italia shopping center-former Shqiponja square-Rruga ‘Teodor Keko’, in both its directions as entrance and exit from Tirana, starting from 11 o’clock : 00-13: 30 there will be traffic jams for all vehicles.
- In the big ring road from the Flour Mill overpass to the roundabout leading to the Sanatorium there will be traffic jams on both sides of the ring starting from 11:00 to 13:30.
- On the main interurban road Elbasan-Tirana and all other exit roads to the big ring road and towards the city of Tirana, there will also be traffic jams for all vehicles starting from 11:00 to 13:30.
- In Elbasan street, street 3 ‘Vëllezërit Kondi’, street ‘Arben Broci’, street ‘Faik Konica’, street ‘Dervish Hima’, street ‘Asim Zeneli’, street ‘Qamil Guranjaku’, street ‘Ismail Qemali’, street ‘ Pope John Paul II ‘, Blv. ‘Dëshmorët e Kombit’, there will be traffic jams for all vehicles starting from 11:00 until 13:30.
- At Blv. ‘Dëshmorët e Kombit’, Toptanëve street, ‘George Ë Bush’ street, Blv. ‘Zhan D’ark’, Blv. ‘Bajram Curri’, street ‘Myslym Shyri’, street 28 ‘Nëntori’ will have traffic jams for all vehicles starting from 14:30 to 16:30.
- In Toptaneve Street, ‘George Ë Bush’ Street, Blv. ‘Jean D’ark’, Elbasan road and Blv. ‘Bajram Curri’, there will be traffic jams and restrictions for all vehicles from 16:30 to 18:00.
- Also from 17:30 to 18:30, there will be traffic jams for all vehicles entering and exiting the road to Elbasan, the big ring road, Teodor Keko road, Tirana-Durres highway and Durres-Tirana, Vore -Rinas, the bridge of Gjoles-Rinas.
- Also, the rest and stay of any vehicle will not be allowed, including TAXI or vehicles of entities that have reserved parking in the following streets, except emergency vehicles and those of the state police, in the road Rinas-Gjole bridge, bridge of Gjoles-Rinas-Qafe Kashar, Qafe Kashari-Tirana highway and vice versa, ‘Teodor Keko’ street, Unaza e Madhe, ‘Elbasanit’ street, ‘Ismail Qemal’i street, Blv. ‘Martyrs of the Nation’, Toptaneve Street, George W Bush Street and other roads affected by security restrictions on the Turkish President’s Delegation.
