The Government of Kosovo during the 51st meeting has decided to declare an emergency energy situation, which will be valid for 60 days.
According to the document published by the Office of the Prime Minister, emergency measures in energy supply include imposing restrictions on energy supply to consumers and imposing special obligations on energy enterprises.
Through this decision it was decided to establish an Emergency Technical Committee within the Ministry of Economy – this Committee will consist of a representative of the Ministry of Economy, one from ERO, one from KOSTT, one from KEK, one from KEDS, one from KESCO, one from the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, one representative from the MIA, one from the Commission for Mines and Minerals and one member from the Kosovo Competition Authority.
The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli during the discussion said that the approval of this decision does not mean that the measures will be decided immediately.
“Such an announcement does not mean taking immediate measures, but it means taking measures for supply to consumers. Approval of this decision means immediate implementation of the measures. The proposal of this means the imposition of measures within 60 days from the entry into force, but the Assembly can continue this situation “, said Rizvanolli.
“The approval of this decision does not mean that the measures will be imposed immediately, but it gives the right to the Government to take measures as needed, so I invite you to approve this decision,” she added.
