From May 1, there will be no more physical counters in the Republic of Albania. This was announced by the head of government Edi Rama, during his speech at the event where he announces the transition of online public services.
“Technology and electronic devices are the same as here as in developed countries, it is enough to know and organize to put it to work. And today this is fantastic news for all Albanians, who do not need to know anyone or talk to anyone, as it is enough to enter here and apply for all services of the state range.
There are only a small number of services that will still continue with counters, in the Civil Registry, for example, out of 590 counters, 150 will remain, because we have not yet reached the time when marriages are made with e-albania and the oath before the notary is made online, therefore must be both parties physically
We are at a stage where we are concluding a significant part of the digital revolution and giving a push away from corruption in services, the other part is that no one will leave work, everyone will continue to work but will do another job. “Instead of questioning and torturing citizens, they will deal with filling out documents online,” Rama said.
