Covid-19 vaccines based on mRNA technology do not cause complications in pregnant women.
The news was confirmed by the European Medicines Agency, EMA, after a detailed review of several studies.
The agency analysis was based on many studies involving about 65,000 pregnant women at various stages. This analysis did not reveal any signs of risk of any complications, miscarriage or premature birth that could be caused by the vaccine.
Currently, the coronavirus vaccines based on mRNA technology, which are used within the European Union, are those of Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna.
“Pregnant women can use Covid-19 vaccines produced by mRNA technology, as they do not endanger either the baby or their health.Said the EMA.
The study showed that Covid-19 vaccines were effective in reducing the risk of hospitalization in both pregnant and non-pregnant women.
It is learned that some EU countries have already adopted the use of Covid-19 vaccines in pregnant women and the latest EMA study on mRNA vaccines could most likely spur vaccination campaigns in many other countries.
