Billionaire Elon Musk has been forced to deny the latest noises in the media that he had a “romantic” relationship with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of Google’s owner, Sergey Brin.
Their sexual relationship was reported yesterday by the powerful daily Wall Street Journal.
Musk says he has had no secret sexual relationships with her or anyone else, following reports that the SpaceX chief’s affair with Shanahan – herself a tech entrepreneur – led to the breakdown of her marriage to Brin.
Musk said: “These are totally nuts. Sergey and I are friends and we were together two days ago, while I have only met Nicole twice in three years, always with other people around, nothing romantic.”
Further, giving a little more personal information than was required, the billionaire said: “I haven’t had sex in years.”
Musk further criticized the Wall Street Journal for what he called a personal attack: “WSJ, this newspaper has written so many lies about me and Tesla that I can’t remember! It’s a shame.”
According to the newspaper, Musk and Shanahan met at an art exhibition in Miami late last year and had a brief relationship.
This then reportedly led her husband Brin, one of the world’s top ten richest people with $95 billion, to file for divorce in January.
The 37-year-old Shanahan is reported to be seeking about $1 billion in divorce.
Shanahan, a millionaire, says that she has had a difficult life and that she has worked in a restaurant since the age of 13 to help support her family.
She had become pregnant in 2018 shortly after meeting Brin at a yoga retreat, as she had been having trouble conceiving for years.
