“DP should become part of the process of selecting the President only with clear rules, pre-determined and that guarantee that DP will not be a facade in this process. We have to come up with a written position, a written document that is presented to the other party, which includes two components: the selection criteria and the selection procedure. In the procedure we have to propose the role that the opposition will have. If the rules of the process are accepted, only then can we engage in concrete discussions and proposals. If the role of the opposition in the process is not accepted, then clearly Edi Rama does not want a consensual President. I propose that each of us make written proposals and you Mr. Chair summarize the positions in a document that is then approved by the group and presented to the other party. The issue of the President is an issue that needs to be discussed by the parliamentary group. No other forum can be imposed on the parliamentary group. “What they say today should not be discussed by the group, until yesterday they said the group should gather and discuss”, added Bardhi.
