Economic journalist, Bardhi Sejdarasi, invited to the Open this Monday, explained why the price of fuel in Albania is cheaper than in the neighbors.
According to him, it is the taxes that increase the price and make it look high.
“Not only the oil market, but also the wheat market, etc., are regulated markets. Speaking of law, there is a legal mechanism of price formation in Albania. When oil is cheaper in Kosovo, I say no, that transport increases, etc. This is an approved mechanism. I have removed all additional price taxes, and Kosovo and Montenegro have ENT price regulators. We are leaving the liter of fuel only with excise and VAT, it turns out that in Albania the price of a liter of oil is cheaper. We have chosen this tax system. “Whoever earns more pays more”said Sejdarasi.
