March 3, 2021 – The EU Special Representative for the Pristina-Belgrade Dialogue and other regional issues of the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajçakk, concluded his three-day visit to Kosovo today.
During his visit to Kosovo immediately after the last parliamentary elections, Mr. Lajçak briefed the winner of the elections, the President of Self-Determination Albin Kurti, in detail on the progress made in the Pristina-Belgrade Dialogue since its resumption in July 2020. They also discussed next steps forward.

While I understand that Mr. Kurti will need some time to get acquainted with the Dialogue and its agreements, both the EU and the US expect the process of comprehensive normalization between Kosovo and Serbia to continue soon. In Pristina, Special Representative Lajcak met with incumbent President Vjosa Osmani, caretaker Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and leaders of political parties, including PDK, LDK, AAK and the Serbian List, to emphasize the importance of unity in Dialogue across party lines. He also met with representatives of the international community in Kosovo, spoke with the US Ambassador and briefed EU member states on his talks.
Taking the opportunity to meet with women political leaders, the Special Representative underlined the EU’s commitment to promoting women’s participation in all spheres of society, including politics. Mr. Lajçak welcomed their great interest and their active role since the beginning of the Dialogue.
From Pristina, he continues to Belgrade and Podgorica as part of his visit to the region.
