MP Vangjel Dule requested an interpellation with Prime Minister Edi Rama on the issue of minorities this Thursday in the Assembly, but the latter passed the word to Minister Elisa Spiropali, as he is not present in the hall.
Dule denied this, saying minorities are not on Rama’s priority agenda. He asked the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla to hold this interpellation at another time.
“The prime minister did not deserve it. Rama’s position is that respect for minorities does not exist on his agenda of priorities, but exists in the EU. I do not accept the development of this interpellation, but it can take place in another moment with Rama. It shows abusive attitude and attitude of negative will “, said Dule.
While in her speech, Spiropali rejected Dule’s accusations, emphasizing that minorities are one of the most important issues for the government.
“It was exactly in respect of your request to hear what the Albanian governments have done for the protection of national minorities, we decided to hold this interpellation today and you decided not to conduct it. You used your time and told some untruths. This country is an example for the region in terms of respecting national minorities and completing the legal framework. You are guaranteed economic and cultural freedoms, but also other freedoms that unfortunately Albanians in many countries of the world are denied“, Said Spiropali.
Dule again took the floor from the seat and then left the assembly hall.
“Mrs. Spiropali, you just tried my justice and my decision not to develop it, my right is a matter of debates and not recitations”, said Dule.
