Elbasan / Surprise checks to apprehend wanted persons, those circulating with firearms and narcotics.
The police operation codenamed “Unexpected” is finalized, to crack down on criminal activity in the field of illegal possession of weapons.
The operation was conducted by the structures of DVP Elbasan, in cooperation with FNSH, Fier.
Seized 1 firearm and ammunition.
The citizen who possessed the weapon is handcuffed.
Pursuant to the plan of measures for the control of the territory, in order to apprehend wanted persons, those who circulate with firearms, narcotics, as well as for the prevention of criminal events, based on previously obtained information, investigative and operational structures in DVP Elbasan, Elbasan Police Commissariat, in cooperation with FNSH, Fier, successfully organized and finalized the police operation codenamed “Unexpected”.
As part of this operation, dozens of surprise checks were carried out on the streets and in different environments. As a result of these checks, the citizen BG, 34 years old, resident in Elbasan, was caught and arrested in flagrante delicto, at the train station in the neighborhood “Sul Paprri”, in Elbasan.
This citizen was driving a vehicle and as soon as he saw the Police pursuing him, as information was available that he had a firearm with him, he threw the weapon and tried to leave, but was caught by police officers and handcuffed.
During the operation, several other persons with criminal records were accompanied for verification, who, after verifications, were released.
Work continues to fully document the criminal activities in which this citizen may be implicated.
The materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance in Elbasan, for the criminal offense “Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosives and ammunition.”
