A drone strike may have set fire to an oil refinery in Novoshaktinsk, in Russia’s Rostov region on the border with Ukraine.
The governor of the Russian region, Vasily Golubev, said that some fragments of a drone were found at the scene but without specifying the origin of the device.
Footage posted on social media showed a drone flying towards the refinery, located just 8km from the border with Ukraine, before a huge blast of flames and black smoke rose into the sky.
According to Russian regional authorities, the fire was extinguished and all personnel were evacuated without any casualties.
“Refinery work has been suspended pending an investigation,” Golubev added.
