The Democratic Party has made a request to the Tirana Judicial District Court for the expulsion of Judge Agron Zhukri on the issue of amending the Statute submitted by the National Assembly on December 11.
This request was not accepted by the Court, which drew lots and the judge was selected, Arben Konstandini.
Judge Zhukri refused to consider the registration of the PD statute on the grounds that his wife had worked with former Prime Minister Berisha once and that he was in a state of conflict of interest.
On the other hand, according to the explanation given by the Court of Tirana, the registration of the statute is a request made on the law on political parties, which does not make it incompatible with the function, so the resignation was not accepted.
Currently, the DP is facing an unprecedented situation in Albanian politics, where members have approved 2 Statutes, but none knows the “codes” of the other, leaving the resolution of the conflict to justice.
