Russian forces have stepped up their attacks in Ukraine overnight and until morning.
Local officials in western and northern Ukraine today reported dozens of rocket attacks on military facilities. Six rockets were fired from the Black Sea at the Yavoriv base in Lviv, according to regional governor Maxim Kozytskyi.

In the Zhytomyr region of northern Ukraine, attacks on a military target killed at least one soldier.
“About 30 missiles were fired at a military infrastructure facility very close to the city of Zhytomyr,” said Vitaliy Bunechko, adding that about 10 missiles had been captured and destroyed.
And in Chernihiv, also in the north, Governor Vyacheslav Chaus said the small town of Desna was under “massive” rocket fire.
He did not specify what was hit, but said there were no casualties.
It is worth noting that Desna is home to a training center for Ukrainian infantry forces.
