The police operation codenamed “Just in time” is finalized, to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign nationals, for illegal border crossing.
Specialists of the Section for Investigation of Illegal Trafficking in DVP Tirana, in cooperation with the Sector of the Special Force “Eagle”, and with the Sector of the Operational Force, based on the information provided on the road, that in an apartment adapted as a hotel , in the area of Lapraka, about 30 people, foreign emigrants, were being detained, organized and finalized the operation “Just in time”, to crack down on this criminal activity.
As part of this operation, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
– MK, 40 years old, resident in Tirana, ME, 26 years old, resident in Tarablos, Libya, and ZD, 27 years old, resident in Casablanca, Morocco, for the criminal offenses: “Assistance in illegal border crossing”, “Coercion with through intimidation or violence for the transfer of property ”and“ Illegal deprivation of liberty ”.
In the apartment of the citizen MK, on the first, third and fourth floor, the Police services found about 30 persons of different nationalities, mainly from the Middle East, who were kept in these rooms, without being allowed to leave, taking the means of communication and threatening the family members in the countries of origin, for the payment of the transport of these citizens, towards our country.
Following the actions, 14 foreign citizens were prosecuted for the criminal offense “Illegal crossing of the state border.”
Work is underway to fully document this criminal activity and identify other persons implicated in it.
The materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Tirana Judicial District, for further procedural actions.
