Ilirian Demaj, who works as a nurse at the Intensive Care Clinic at UCCK, has not been paid for the work he does for three months now.
Thus, on Wednesday he went out to protest in front of the Ministry of Health, demanding, in addition to his salary, an answer whether his employment contract will be extended.
Non-execution of salaries and contract problems have pushed Qendresa Berisha, who is a nurse in the vaccination process, to look for a job in Germany.
Along with Demaj and Berisha, nurses and other doctors who were hired as support staff during the pandemic protested in front of the Ministry of Health, demanding compensation for their work.
After Wednesday’s protest, the Ministry of Health has promised that in a week I will execute salaries for support staff.
In September 2020, over 1300 health workers were employed as part of the support staff in clinics and hospitals in Kosovo during the fight against the Covid pandemic 19.
