The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, has stated that Rama’s statements regarding Kosovo, or his cooperation with politicians, do not harm political independence in the country.
In the studio of Top Story with Sokol Balla, he said that Albania has an important role for Albanians in the region, but the Albanian government does not influence the internal politics of his country, since the presidents are elected and compete in Kosovo.
He said that Tirana should be clear that Kosovo’s relationship with Serbia is interstate and it is up to Pristina to close it politically.
“Albania, due to its history, long state culture, economic capacity, NATO membership and relationship with Kosovo, has an important role for Albanians in the region, but this does not affect our independence and behavior in Kosovo. Kurti and I compete and are elected in Kosovo, we follow the policies of the Kosovo government. If there is cooperation and coordination, between Rama and Kurti or other politicians, which is a new reality, we should not sink into the prejudices of the past. There are two Albanian states in the region. In the field of regional cooperation, we must help each other. Tirana should keep one thing in mind, the Kosovo-Serbia report is an interstate report and we should close this topic politically. Any other form of cooperation is fine for me.” said Hoxhaj in Top Story.
