Leaders of pre-university educational institutions must resign if they are not admitted to the School of Directors or are not certified after two tests.
This is the latest instruction approved by the Ministry of Education for the demotion of principals if they are not certified or if after the annual evaluation the principals result in unsatisfactory performance, but without causing their exit from the education system.
Since 2019, when the certification process started by 2354 principals and deputy principals of private and public schools throughout Albania, only 235 of them have passed the sieve, among them aspirants for principals have been certified. While 270 principals or teachers who want to become principals are on the verge of testing after completing 9 months of training.
Out of more than 700 participants in the trainings, among them there are 67 passers in the exam who have been given the opportunity to be retested.
