One kilogram of heroin was seized this morning in the port of Durres. This quantity was discovered during a control of a truck that was seized in the Port of Durrës within the police operation ‘ATTEMPT’.
This operation had started on June 26, 2021, by the Shkodra police, where 17 kilograms of suspected heroin were seized and the driver of the truck, citizen SP, was handcuffed.
Following the actions, the specialists received information that in the truck seized in the port of Durrës, during the operation “ATTEMPT”, in June 2021, there could be narcotics again and they exercised detailed control in the truck type “Scania”.
After intervening with cutting tools, it became possible to find another quantity of suspected heroin, weighing 1 kilogram, in the chassis of the truck. The investigative materials in charge of the arrested citizen SP were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Shkodra Judicial District, for further actions.
What happened on June 26?
Shkodra Police, based on the information received on the operational road, passed for control at the border crossing point Hani i Hotit, a truck with Albanian license plates that was circulating in the direction of Montenegro.
For a more specialized control, the truck driven by the citizen SP, 56 years old, was escorted to the port of Durrës, where it was controlled by the Permanent Task Force composed of the investigative structures of the Durrës police.
The specialized control showed that about 17 kilograms of suspected heroin were hidden in the truck.
