Several cities ihsin covered in ash yesterday in the eastern Philippines after the new volcano erupted.
Yesterday’s eruption of Bulusan volcano lasted only 18 minutes releasing dense ash over the towns that were recovering from its eruption last week.
In the town of Juban, which was most affected, emergency workers alerted drivers to speeding and low visibility.
Resident Antonio Habitan, said the ash drop had started in the early hours of the morning.
“The explosion started at 3 in the morning and I believed it was raining, but when I saw it outside there was ash everywhere.”
“The river is full of ashes and until 7 o’clock in the morning the situation has not changed,” he added.
“It was 3 o’clock in the morning when we heard the noise and lightning around Bulusan volcano. “We thought it was raining with ashes, as we could not see clearly,” said resident Rosalie Eco.
“But around 4 o’clock the ash started to get thicker. “A little while ago there was a collision between two trucks as there is no visibility from the ashes”, she adds.
The woman adds that the ash could damage local agricultural products.
