Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has said that Denmark will welcome Finland to NATO and will work for its membership as soon as possible.
She said the decision “will strengthen NATO and our common security” and “Denmark will do everything for a speedy accession process after the formal application”.
Estonia has also welcomed the possible accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO, but has warned of Russian preparations for an attack on the Baltic states.
Senior officials in the Estonian Ministry of Defense have called for further NATO reinforcements, including an urgent need for air defense units.
