Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Kavaja today, for the handing over of 260 new apartments reconstructed after the 2019 earthquake.
While talking about their surrender, Rama “assured” the new owners of the apartments that the “locks” are safe and to be careful not to block them.
Raman: Giving the keys to all these families, which for you was incredible. Maybe even now that we’re talking there may be someone who still doesn’t believe it. All of you who have come here, your locks are safe, be careful not to come and block that you are from Kavaja and confuse those fingers.
The head of government added that the reconstruction program was without distinction and except for 500 apartments in Lac, all others were rebuilt through the state budget.
Raman: This was a program without differences, there is still work to be done by the mayor that the rest of us can no longer live with old age. Here there are opportunities to create a much friendlier environment. Despite everything that divides you, voting day is one. We live together we have common challenges. The earthquake fell like a great disaster.
I have visited some of you, some were hopeless. Today not only are these apartments real, they are all your property, mortgaged and free. You have no financial obligation because everything is paid for you just to have the opportunity to enjoy it. There are moments when you feel that politics is worth it and without politics some good things like this cannot happen. Some say that this has been done by the world, the donors, the truth is that all these houses that you see today, with the exception of 500 apartments, have been built 100% from the budget of the Albanian state.
