While discussing the January 8 protest, a debate with harsh tones has started between Flamur Noka and Jonila Godoles in the show “Open”.
Although the moderator Eni Vasili was trying to calm the situation, it seemed that they would not stop. But Vasili chose to make it clear that he would turn off the microphones in case they did not interrupt the debate.
Vasili: I will turn off your microphones. I never did. It’s something very ugly and I hate to do it, but I will do it. I understand that the situation is tense.
Excerpts from Flamur Noka’s debate with Jonila Godolen
Noka: Does it hurt when you look at them?
Godole: What happened that day is tragic for all Democrats, for those on the right, for those who love this party, it was a sad day, but also for all other Albanians, for those who saw it on the screens. I have set up a career that is independent of political parties. The party should also be open to people who are not part of the party.
Vasili: You are both as party representatives.
Godole: I have an independent career and I am proud of it. I wanted to say that all Albanian citizens, not only Democrats, I myself was a journalist and young in age when my building was burned down and what happened that day was for all Albanians an unprecedented act in 2022.
Vasili: Who used violence against whom?
Godole: The public sees the footage. Albanians have the images there, I think the state police intervened very late. The state police are there for the smallest thing. When we have a couple who are at separation, you said that maybe you should go to court.
Noka: I did not say so.
Godole: You said so.
Noka: I’m here and you tell me what I said. You do not look at all when you lie. Not to lie…
Godole: Please check the tone and the words you say to me. I have a question.
Noka: My questions are asked by the ladies, not you here.
