It was the first stage of this tour where 54 cyclists competed in the route Tirana-Korca with a length of 161.1km. Romanian Cristian Raileanu has expressed his happiness that he could have been second in this race, part of which became only a few moments after he got off the plane.
“The race was very good, it is my third time in Albania, it is a beautiful country and for the first stage I am happy with the second position, it was difficult, very hot “.
I’m not upset that I did not win, my trip was canceled yesterday, I arrived today just 15 minutes before the start of the race. The finish was very hard, the cyclists were good.
I came from Italy, the weather there is many times different from today, so it is difficult. I checked the other players all the time and talked to my team, that we could interact together and make others tired”.
Skënder Anxhaku, the president of the Cycling Federation demands more support for this race that has been growing from year to year.
Part of this race should have been 12 teams from different countries of the world with 6 competitors each but three teams have not managed to become part of the 79 cycling circle as some of the cyclists have tested positive with Covid 19.
