The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday advised citizens not to travel to certain countries, including Kosovo.
Other countries are Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, Ecuador, Philippines and Paraguay. The CDC now lists nearly 130 countries and territories with COVID-19 cases as ‘Level Four’.
Level 4 alarm, the CDC’s highest risk rating for COVID, comes with the recommendation to avoid travel and, when this is not possible, you should be fully vaccinated against the virus.
The CDC is also warning because of the “very high” levels of COVID-19 cases in these countries where even fully vaccinated travelers “are still at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19”.
Meanwhile the world is on alert also because of the new covid variant, similar to Omicron, known as BA.2. In recent days, according to the WHO, several countries have reported increases in numbers with the subvariant known as BA.2.
