Dear citizens!
Given the dynamic and real-time assessment of the epidemiological situation with COVID -19, today 488 positive cases were reported, which represents the largest number of positive cases this year with a tendency to increase in the following days. In Prishtina alone, 285 positive cases were reported. We express our condolences to the families for the 8 cases of death reported during the last 24 hours.
The number of positive cases and deaths from COVID-19 continues to be high and worrying as a direct result of the neglect of the measures.
Overcrowded doctors in hospitals are fighting against this insidious and destructive virus with all their professional and human power.
NIPHK reiterates its call for the implementation of all general and specific measures for protection against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Preventive measures are the same with the special emphasis that positive persons should stay at home to prevent the spread in the family and in the community. By reducing contacts, we will make it possible to stop the spread of infection.
Therefore we recommend once again:
- To stay at home, and to go out only for necessities;
- Strict prohibition of meeting people with whom you do not live in the community, except for specific purposes;
- Strict prohibition of rallies;
- Strict adherence to restrictive measures in public activities;
- Limit work to non-essential activities and venues while also reducing work time during the day.
NIPHK estimates that these measures can stop the increase in the number of cases, prevent overcrowding of hospitalizations and prevent the increase in the number of deaths.
NIPHK appeals to all citizens, institutions and public and private organizations, to respect and take all necessary measures for the prevention, management and control of COVID-19 infection, taking into account the provisions of the Law on Prevention and Combating the COVID-pandemic. 19, and decisions in force on the measures and obligations of institutions to implement general and specific measures for protection against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In particular, we call for the implementation of the recommendations and the observance of restrictive measures for public activities, namely restrictions on the gathering of citizens and public gatherings.
Gathering citizens without masks and without keeping distance increases the risk of spreading the infection while the SARS-COV-2 virus is present among us.
We appeal to the responsible institutions, namely the Kosovo Police and the responsible inspectorates to strictly supervise and take all necessary actions for the implementation of measures and other decisions in force pursuant to the Law on Prevention and Combating the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Kosovo.
Dear citizens,
Please be extra careful!
