But who was Kujtim Gjonaj?
Kujtim Gjoni (Gjonaj) is a screenwriter, director of documentaries and cartoons, Albanian producer and publisher. Kujtim Gjonaj was born on November 13, 1946 in the city of Tirana.
In 1968 he finished his higher studies at the University of Tirana, Department of Language – Literature and in the same year he started working as a screenwriter of documentary films at the Kinostudio “Shqipëria e Re”.
In 1974, he became a director in the documentary film sector, writing many of the screenplays for these films.

This production house is also a publishing house through which the publisher Gjonaj produces biographies of prominent figures of the nation such as Ali Pasha Tepelena, Faik Konica, Jeronim De Rada, Naim Frashëri, Mother Teresa, Sulejman Pitarka (People’s Artist)). etc. These biographies then serve as the basis for documentary film scripts on these figures. With the documentary “Encyclopedia that walks”, Kujtim Gjonaj would be awarded the Festival Cup at the XII Albanian Documentary Film Festival held in Tirana in 2006.
