Moscow says it will open humanitarian corridors every day for as long as the conflict lasts for Ukrainian civilians.
Russia’s defense ministry has told the Interfax news agency it will do so without Kiev’s approval.
Russian officials said the corridors would open at 10:00 a.m. Moscow time every day.
Offers to open humanitarian corridors to Russia have previously been criticized as “cynical” by Ukraine and the West. Ukraine rejected a similar offer earlier, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called such proposals “absurd.”
On Thursday morning, the Russian and Ukrainian foreign ministers failed to reach an agreement. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said there was “no progress” towards a ceasefire after meeting with his Russian counterpart in Antalya.
On the other hand Sergei Lavrov suggested that Vladimir Putin may be open to meeting Volodymyr Zelenskyyn.
