“What we talked about is how to find a way for the boys and girls of Tirana and all of Albania, with the boys and girls of Vienna, Linz, Graz and Austria, to take advantage of the European Youth Year for the European Union and declare Tirana the European Capital. of Youth. “Sometimes, we need a reason to connect, so we have the perfect motive for these two events,” said Veliaj.
He mentioned some of the programs, but also new areas of cooperation between the youth of the two countries.
“We also talked about how to find opportunities, beyond ERASMUS and Interreg, for some standard programs of the European Union, to add some other activities by youth organizations, various Austrian companies, or initiatives of boys and girls of Austria and Albania in the field. such as vocational education, civil emergency issues, environmental issues, sports, culture, music, art.
The Mayor of Tirana finally donated the Clock Tower to the Austrian Secretary of State for Youth as a symbolic sign.
