Former leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha has congratulated President Manfred Weber on his victory in the European People’s Party.
In a Twitter reaction, Basha writes that PPE needs Weber’s experienced leadership at the point where Europe is today.

Basha’s reaction comes even though the Democratic Party lost its right to vote to elect the new leaders of the European People’s Party. Although the DP enjoys the status of a member, it is not represented by any delegate, marking the first precedent since the day of its membership in this European group. However, despite the lack of an official invitation from the European People’s Party, 3 Democrat MPs traveled to Rotterdam: Jorida Tabaku as part of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Albana Vokshi as part of the delegation of the European Women’s Group and Belind Këlliçi from the forum of youth.
