At around 10.40 on Monday, the Unistream ship with 6500 coal departed from a port of Colombia on April 26 arrived at the port of Durres.
From the physical control that the police did to the cargo, they found in it 53 packages of cocaine with a total weight of 59 kg.
The permanent task force stationed at the port had information about this drug consignment and on Monday evening carried out a check with the drug smuggling dog.
When the dogs did not find the drug, they started unloading the load with coal, which brought to the surface 2 bags with 59 kg of cocaine.
The physical control of the load continues as the police are passing through the filter all the coal loaded coal.
Top Channel has learned that the shipment of coal was ordered by an Albanian chrome company, which is not known to have anything to do with drugs. The entire crew, including the Russian captain, is currently being escorted to the police station.
According to the data provided the cargo ship Unistream was anchored in the port of Barraquilla in Colombia on the evening of 23 April. After being loaded with coal, around noon on April 26, it started sailing to the port of Durrës with a final destination, where it arrived around 10:40 on May 16.
This is the eighth time in a short time that the police find drugs in the goods imported in the port of Durrës. The novelty this time lies in the fact that cocaine did not come hidden in bananas but in coal.
