The head of the pro-democratic liberal network CNN, Jeff Zucker, has resigned today after he did not report on the romantic relationship with a leading colleague of the company.
Zucker, who has run the network for nine years, said in a memo to subordinates that his intimate relationship with CNN marketing chief Allison Gollust was revealed during the harassment habits of former presenter Chris Cuomo.
“As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s behavior on CNN, I was questioned about a consensual relationship with a close colleague, someone I had worked with for 20 years,” Zucker wrote in a document shared online by the CNN reporter. , Brian Stelter.
“Our relationship has developed over the years and I did not report on it according to the procedure. “That’s why I was wrong and for that I am resigning today,” the memo said.
Even Gollust, who is not resigning, acknowledged the developments in a statement.
“Jeff and I have been friends in the profession but recently during COVID our relationship changed. “I’m sorry I did not report it on time, according to the rules, but I’m proud of working with CNN and I look forward to continuing to do so.”
The development comes after a series of even more serious sex scandals of the television network, when some officials have been fired and are being investigated on pedophilia charges.
Rumors of Zucker’s connection to Gollust were circulating in the media from a few years but they firmly denied it.

While a lawyer of Chris Cuomo has recently denied that his client has blackmailed Zucker by publishing details of his affair with Gollust.
