The cases when illegal items are discovered inside the cells are not unknown in the prisons of our country. Only in the last 24 hours, an operation of the Operational Forces of the General Directorate of Prisons in IECDs, Peqin, Korça and Elbasan has revealed several playstations adapted for communication and narcotics.
It is learned that the operation involving eight operational groups was carried out on 1-2 February in the time zone 21:00 to 05:45.
11 rooms in the Elbasan Penitentiary Institution in Buildings A and B, 13 rooms in the Peqin Penitentiary Institution and 14 rooms in the Korça Penitentiary Institution were inspected.
At the end of the control, the following prohibited items were found:
A suspected cell phone watch, two suspected playstations used as means of communication, two plastic bags with white powder suspected of narcotics.
The materials were handed over to the ICS officers and the Organized Crime Sector at the Elbasan Police Directorate for the continuation of investigative actions.
