In Albania, the import of cars that are older than the year of production of 2007 will no longer be allowed.
The Directorate of Road Transport has recalled the rules stemming from a government decision in 2018, to protect the environment from cars that do not meet pollution standards.
According to the established rules, new cars with 0 km, to be imported must meet the standard 5 euro, while other motor vehicles with 0 km must be euro 4 and above.
Meanwhile, history changes in terms of used cars. Those who have traveled kilometers in another country, can be imported to Albania if they are above the Euro 3 standard and not older than 15 years, while this also applies to other used motor vehicles, such as buses, trucks or motorcycles.
In Albania, according to the figures of the Directorate of Transport, there are over 720 thousand motor vehicles in circulation, while about 340 thousand of them are of older products than 2005 and do not meet the standards of environmental pollution.
