Just a few hours ago the international anti-doping federation announced that our athletes who participated in the World Weightlifting Championships are clean.
A news that officializes the historic achievement of Albania in this asset with a gold medal and two silver medals thanks to Briken Cajes who until today after that result had chosen to remain silent.
Briken Calja: I was silent precisely for this purpose so that these results would come out and everyone would understand that we play clean and that Albania has received medals that other countries much bigger than us dream of.
Thanks to this result, which is the continuation of some previous results, Prime Minister Edi Rama promised an additional fund for the multi-sport and its massification. Weightlifting is the sport that will benefit the most and President Elerz Gjoza tells us something more about the project.
Elez Gjoza: There will be a total fund of 5 million euros and we will go down to the schools together with the coaches to select the new elements because weightlifting is already a massive sport.
At the end of this calendar year Briken Calja has a special dedication and thanksgiving.
Briken Calja: I am very grateful to my family that for so long I have restricted and conditioned them by denying them their rights. Wife mom dad and brothers. Without them I would be nobody.
Meanwhile, 2022, according to the president of FSHP, will be the year of weightlifting.
Elez Gjoza: It will be our year as we will organize the European U20-23, we will organize the elections of the president of the world federation in Tirana and in 2023 we will also organize the youth world championship.
