Through a decision, the government declares June 2 a day of national mourning in honor of the late President Bujar Nishani. The decision stipulates that in all public institutions the flag be lowered to half-staff.
Arkmort of former President Bujar Nishani arrived from Germany at the Morini border crossing in the early hours of this Wednesday morning. Kosovo police officers at this border point lined up to honor the funeral procession headed to Tirana.
From 10:00, the former President was laid to rest in the central lobby of the presidency, from where relatives, friends, associates, including many citizens, paid homage.
On Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00 will be held the official funeral ceremony of homage according to the state protocol, to then go to the Sharra cemetery where Mr. Nishani will be buried.
