A young British guitarist with a secret life as a sex maniac, has been sentenced today to a minimum of 30 years behind bars for kidnapping and massacring 18-year-old innocent Bobbi-Anne McLeod in the woods.
The 24-year-old killer Cody Ackland watched all the time from the judge as his sentence was handed down.
As he was leaving the hall, the victim’s brother shouted, “You are a dead man!”
Judge Robert Linford told Ackland: “You made Bobbi-Anne McLeod the object of a ruthless attack even though he had done nothing wrong. “She was a loving and well-known person in this area, whom you killed causing terror.”
Lindford sentenced Ackland to 30 years in prison, calling him a very dangerous person.
The court was told that Ackland had roamed the car in Plymouth looking for victims, until it happened to Bobbi-Anne. He parked the car and started yelling at the girl at the bus station, until at one point he hit her in the head with a hard object.
The petite student had fallen to the ground and then he had hit her again and picked her up in his car.
Recalling the moments of the teenager’s murder during interrogation, Ackland said: “She started making noise so I killed her.”
Ackland then placed the victim’s body in the trunk of the car and walked more than 30 miles toward the Plymouth Sound forest area, where it dumped her body in a vegetated area.
Prosecutor Richard Posner said: “She was thrown between the trees and the vegetation, her body was naked and there were 14 cracks in her head and face. The identification was done through dental data “.
After the November 2021 attack, Ackland had thrown away his victim’s clothes and gone to celebrate with friends.
Bobbi-Anne’s relatives had reported her disappearance after she failed to meet her boyfriend in Plymouth.
Three days later Ackland appeared before police to plead guilty, telling officers where he had dumped the body of the unfortunate girl.
Prosecutor Richard Posner told the court that Ackland was living a double life and was drawn to serial killers in the US, Britain, Australia, and Russia.
Posner said Ackland had studied their crimes and consequences.
