The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, announced that the first patient with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has lost his life.
“Unfortunately, yes, Omicron cases are being hospitalized and it has been confirmed that at least one person with Omicron has died,” Johnson said in a statement during a visit to a vaccination clinic near the Paddington area of west London.
