The UK has lifted measures against the new coronavirus (COVID-19) starting today, in addition to isolation in case of infection.
The announcement from the Ministry of Health states that the “plan B measures” that were put in place on December 8 in the fight against the Omicron type have been put to an end thanks to the “great success of the vaccination program”.
Accordingly, the mandatory use of documents showing the status of COVID-19, known as the vaccination passport, has ended. But places like nightclubs and theaters will be able to continue with the implementation voluntarily.
The obligation to wear a mask was also removed, but it was recommended to continue wearing masks in crowds of people and closed places.
On the other hand, isolation in case of infection will continue.
“As we learn to live with COVID, we must see clearly that this virus will not go away,” said Health Minister Sajid Javid, urging that all those who have not been vaccinated be vaccinated.
