European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will host an informal dinner with the six leaders of the Western Balkans on Wednesday (May 11th).
The tradition of holding such an informal dinner was started by Borrell’s predecessor, Federica Mogherini, who met with Balkan leaders every year for an informal dinner to discuss the region’s future and the main challenges facing the region.
This year, according to the announcement, the issue of security in Europe will be at the top of the agenda in light of the unprovoked Russian occupation of Ukraine.
The participation in the dinner in Brussels has been confirmed by: the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuiqiiq, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, the President of Montenegro, Milo ukukanovi,, the Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija.
Kosovo is represented in this informal dinner with Chief Diplomat Gërvalla, as Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti are visiting the United States.
Prior to the informal dinner, all participants will hold brief bilateral talks with the European Union’s chief of diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
