The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, is hosting an informal dinner with the six leaders of the Western Balkans today.
The tradition of holding such a dinner was started by Borrell’s predecessor, Federica Mogherini, who met with Balkan leaders each year at an informal dinner to discuss the region’s future and the main challenges it faces.
This year, according to the announcement, the issue of security in Europe will be at the top of the agenda, against the background of the unprovoked Russian occupation of Ukraine.
The participation in the dinner in Brussels has been confirmed by: the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuçic, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, the President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, the Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija.
Kosovo is represented by Chief Diplomat Gërvalla, as Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti are visiting the United States.
Prior to the informal dinner, all participants will hold brief bilateral talks with the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell.
