Block B2 of the “Kosova B” Power Plant returned to work on Sunday morning, announced the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.
Kurti said that with the commissioning of this block, which had ceased to function in December last year, Kosovo will pay every hour 50 thousand euros less for the import of electricity.
“In other words, for every hour we will pay about 50 thousand euros less import, and until tomorrow morning about 1.2 million euros less than during the days of the week that we are leaving behind. “This is very good news for all of us,” Kurti wrote on his Facebook account.
Block B2 has the capacity to generate 245 megawatts per hour of electricity.
In Kosovo, the increase of the price of electricity has been announced, because, as the Government has said, the country is buying electricity at high prices and is not able to meet the demand with the production of electricity in the power plants “Kosova A” and “Kosova B”.
Kurti said that only on Saturday, January 22, 1 megawatt cost about 200 euros.
The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) has proposed a 9 percent increase in energy prices for households. The government has said it has allocated 75m euros to subsidize part of the energy bills.
In ERO’s proposal for electricity increase, consumers are divided into five categories: A, B, C, D, E.
If you are in category A, ie if you spend 300 kilowatt hours of electricity during a month, then the current price of your bill is 18.87 euros. ERO has proposed that this bill be increased to 20.40 euros. But, with a subsidy from the Government, your bill will remain the same: 18.87 euros.
If you are in category B, or during a month you spend 450 kilowatts, then the current price of your bill is 27.37 euros. ERO has proposed that this bill be increased to 29.66 euros. But, with a subsidy from the Government, your bill will remain the same: 27.37 euros.
If you are in category C, which means that for a month you spend 600 kilowatts, then the current price of your bill is 35.86 euros. ERO has proposed that this bill be increased to 38.92 euros. But, with a subsidy from the Government, your bill remains the same: 35.86 euros.
If you are in category D, so if you spend 800 kilowatts during the month, then the current price of your bill is 47.19 euros. ERO has proposed that this bill be increased to 74.17 euros. But, with a subsidy from the Government, your bill will be: 59.50 euros.
If you are in category E, which means that during the month you spend 1000 kilowatts, then the current price of your bill is 58.52 euros. ERO has proposed that this bill be increased to 109.42 euros. But, with a subsidy from the Government, your bill will be: 83.14 euro.rel
