Blessed Water Day, one of the most important days of the Orthodox calendar, is also celebrated by the Korça believers.
The celebration of the holiday has started from the early hours of the morning with the celebration of the Mass for all believers in the Cathedral “Resurrection of Christ”.
Afterwards, the citizens of Korça addressed the fountain at the “Vangjush Mio” garden, where the ceremony of throwing the cross into the water took place, a symbol of the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River.
After removing the cross from the water, the winner Olgert Tona conveyed his congratulations as well as those who became part of this celebration.
At the end, the citizens in the symbolism of this day have filled bottles with blessed water in the fountain where the cross was thrown as a sign of prosperity for their families.
