The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, together with the Minister of Education Evis Kushi, participated in the ceremony of awarding certificates to the winning students in the third phase of the national olympiads 2020-2021, which took place at the Artistic High School “Jordan Misja ” in Tirana.
When I think about how much work we have done in Tirana, like this beautiful nest here – “Tonin Harapi” hall – I am hopeful that we have made an investment that serves all of you. The fact that today we have boys and girls who won the Olympics and came out successful, means that when we Albanians set our eyes on something, when we have a collaboration between a diligent student and a dedicated teacher, there is nothing stopping us. “Today I am very proud, not only of those who receive medals, but also of the teachers who have contributed with their dedication.”
The Mayor invited the young winners of the Olympics to apply to the call of the Municipality of Tirana for projects for 2022 where Tirana will be the European Capital of Youth.
“I can not wait for next year when we will be the European Capital of Youth. I see as a great opportunity the call for projects or activities, which will be open until January 28! You can apply as a school or for a concert, ensemble or Olympics, but we always want to invite friends from the region, or from all over Europe, to really show the European face of the city of Tirana. “This will be the year when we will have the largest budget ever in the Republic of Albania in our city for the youth, even for the investments for the boys and young girls, and the sky is the limit of what we can do together,” he declared.
While, the Minister of Education, Evis Kushi emphasized the new curricula in pre-university education which, as she said, are the basis in every Olympiad held.
