Dear friends, it is worth appreciating and welcoming the requests made yesterday in Belgrade by the German Chancellor Scholz, who publicly asked the Serb’s Vucic to recognize Kosovo and to impose sanctions on Russia.

In his press conference, Chancellor Scholz said that “the agreement in the end must also resolve the issue of recognition of Kosovo, because it is inconceivable that two countries, which do not recognize each other, join the European Union,” said Scholz, thus openly expressing for the first time his country’s position on the Kosovo-Serbia agreement.
Vucic, meanwhile, played the role of the indictee and the hypocrite, saying that “we only heard today, for the first time, that mutual recognition is being sought. “We have never heard this from Europe before.”
With the language and decisions of the great Serbian autocrat that characterize him, similar to Milosevic, Vucic stressed “do not worry at all that our attitude towards Kosovo is completely different from yours. “Just as you want the territorial integrity of Ukraine, so do the Serbs want the territorial integrity of Serbia.”
With this statement, Serbian President Vucic compared NATO’s liberation intervention in Kosovo to the barbaric Russian occupation of Ukraine.
But Chancellor Scholz made very clear the positions and demands regarding the issue of Kosovo, security and peace in the region as well as the war in Ukraine.
During his visits to Pristina and Belgrade, the German chancellor did not leave without mentioning the sanctions against Russia. On the one hand, he praised Kosovo, which, like Western countries, has joined in punishing Moscow. On the other hand, he urged Belgrade to harmonize its policies with the EU, as a candidate country for the Union should do.
“In the times we live in, the value of peace and security has become more than clear to us again; “a more important reason for Kosovo and Serbia to find a lasting political solution and comprehensive solution that contributes to regional stability,” said Scholz.
Welcoming the demands of Chancellor Scholz during his visit to Belgrade, I also condemn the reactions of the Serb’s Vucic, who today, with the policy he pursues, is a major factor in the conflict in the region.
