The mother of the minister’s son Bledi Çuçi reacted after Sali Berisha’s statement that the son, Endi Çuçi, was arrested in Italy for drug smuggling.
According to Jacqueline Petos, she and her son have no problem with Italian justice, “despite the occasional mention in an Italian justice investigation that has nothing to do with us.”
In a long status on the social network “Facebook”, Peto shows that he stayed in Italy for several months in 2021, after taking care of his sick mother. “No one has the right to lynch and publicly punish us for purely political purposes,” she wrote.
With great concern and very indignation I want to deny all the untrue and ugly accusations which have appeared in the media and which are directed against me personally and my son Endi Çuçi.
The former prime minister has posted on his social network some documents sent to him by a digital citizen from the Italian judicial authorities and claims that the son of the interior minister and several other people have been taken into investigation for drug smuggling and it is alleged that Albanian patients received forged health cards in Italy during the pandemic.
Jacqueline Peto’s full reaction:
From the beginning I want to clarify that neither I nor my son have problems with Italian justice despite the occasional mention in an Italian justice investigation that has nothing to do with us. This is very clearly stated in the investigation file that you have attached and I am quoting:
Në ‘In reviewing the facts related to the paragraph in question, we indicate from the beginning that the elements available to us currently prevent us from determining any action of criminal significance, against some of the persons mentioned (SOTIRI ROMEO , PETO ZHAKLINA, XHABAFTI SOKOL and CUCI ENDI), as there is no element from the investigation acts to leave room for accusations in the future ”
I was in Italy to care for my ailing mother during 2021, who sadly passed away on May 3, 2021 in Italy. On May 4, 2021 my son came to Italy and together we returned to Albania to pay our last respects to the mother.
No one has the right to lynch and publicly punish us for purely political purposes. I’m just asking you not to throw mud at my son, a young graduate who is just starting out in life and contrary to what is slandered by the digital well, has been working since September 2021 for the EPO in Munich, Germany (The European Patent Office- European Trademark and Patent Office). Thank you!
